Dorgali, a beautiful village in the central-eastern part of Sardinia, in the province of Nuoro, also includes the splendid hamlet of Cala Gonone in its territory
It is a very varied territory with a naturalistic heritage of 225 square kilometers, one of the most beautiful and extensive in Sardinia, which moves from the low and sandy coasts or cliffs of the bay of Cala Gonone, up to the Supramonte mountains in the hinterland, arriving to touch the 1086 m with Monte Oddeu
The territory is crossed by numerous streams of which the most important are the Rio Flumineddu, which flows into the fertile Oddoene valley, the Rio Isalle and the Cedrino River which thanks to the Preda'e Othoni dam forms the large artificial lake of Iriai
A few kilometers from the town there are, among other beauties, the Lanaittu valley, the nuragic village of Tiscali, the sources of Su Gologone
Moving towards the coast, after passing a short tunnel, the marvelous gulf of Orosei appears
A winding road reaches the hamlet of Cala Gonone, with its coves and coves
From Cala Gonone with a boat excursion you can also reach the famous natural caves of the Grotte del Bue Marino or all the other wonderful coves that are set in this fairytale coast
