Ossi, a town in Logudoro, in the province of Sassari, is irregularly articulated on various levels that follow the rugged morphology of the place.
The town is in fact located in hills of calcareous origins which are rather difficult for agriculture, but this has not prevented the inhabitants from planting olive groves and vineyards even in lands with a considerable slope.
The great interest within the town of Ossi is the discovery of the nuraghe and the nuragic village of Sa Mandra 'e sa Guia, with a unique circular structure with seat and adjacent basin, believed to be used for bread making.
The ancient testimonies unfold since the pre-Nuragic age in a historical continuity that reaches up to the present day.
In this period the necropolis of `` Noeddale '' made up of hypogeic tombs, the polyiandro tomb of Ena 'e Muros and the necropolis of Adde' Asile. From the nuragic period there are nine visible nuraghes and many others that have collapsed, and the important village of Sa Mandra 'e sa giua, place of numerous finds of great importance for the history of the nuragic civilization.
Ossi is mentioned for the first time in Silki's Condaghe di San Pietro with the name Ogothi (cards 256 and 392). The village is defined as 'domo' or a sort of large company / village directly managed by the judge / ruler of Torres through his subordinates. The current nucleus is however of early medieval origin: it belonged to the ancient curatoria ("department") of Coros (a village that disappeared in the Ittiri area) belonging to the Giudicato of Torres.
