Settimo San Pietro is a village of about 6000 inhabitants in the metropolitan city of Cagliari in Sardinia.
The name is of Roman origin and comes from the expression Septimo ab urbe lapide, which referred to the seven miles that separated the town from Cagliari.
In the village, facing the countryside, there is the parish church of San Pietro flanked by a bell tower from 1627, with traces of the late Gothic structure (16th century) in the pointed arch portal.
Behind the church is the built-up area formed, in the Campidanese tradition, by courtyard houses in unbaked brick with arched portals.
In the area there are the archaeological sites of the Cuccuru Nuraxi Nuragic Complex and the Domus de janas S'acqua 'e is dolus.
