Budoni is a small town in the province of Sassari in the barony on the border with Gallura.
It is a coastal town surrounded by wonderful beaches and coves, thanks to all the naturalistic beauty of the area, today its economy is mainly based on seaside tourism, thanks also to a valuable accommodation organization.
Among the wonders of the coast, Li Cucutti, Baia Sant’Anna and Cala Budoni stand out.
With dazzling white sand surrounded by lush Mediterranean scrub, which encloses between coves and beaches of extraordinary beauty
Inhabited since ancient times, in the Budonese territory there are two domus de janas, prehistoric burials carved into the rock, which testify to the frequentation of these areas already in the Neolithic era, in a period of time that ranges approximately between 4,000 and 3,000 BC.
The two domus of Budoni are of particular interest as they represent the last north-eastern attestation of this type of burial, widespread instead in almost all of Sardinia.
Just to the north, entering the historic region of Gallura, there is no longer the presence of domus de janas for the entire north-eastern quadrant of the island.
