Cabras is a large fishing village on the eastern bank of the homonymous pond.
In a barren plain that could be misleading, the country is actually surrounded by naturalistic and cultural wonders.
Cabras hides historical evidences since the Neolithic, such as the village of Cuccuru is Arrius and numerous nuraghi.
But it is certainly best known for the archaeological discovery carried out in Mont'e Prama in which at the end of the 20th century the statuary complex of the Giants was brought to light, gypsum sandstone giants found in a large sepulchral area on the hill, partially exposed to the Civic archaeological museum of the city.
If that wasn't enough, a few kilometers away is the ancient city of Tharros, founded by the Phoenicians in the eighth century BC. on a previous nuragic village.
A brief summary of the history of Sardinia: a flourishing commercial center in the Phoenician-Punic age, Roman urbs, then Byzantine, the first capital of the Giudicato period, frequented until the Middle Ages.
