Capoterra (Cabuderra sarda) is an Italian city of 23479 inhabitants located in the metropolitan city of Cagliari, in Sardinia.
The village, lying on top of a modest hill, was founded in the mid-century. XVII with the name of Villanova di Capoterra, in memory of a previous town which, until the end of the 15th century, stood a little further to the east; the parish church of S. Efisio, the nodal point of the road network, preserves some late Gothic structures.
The city of Capoterra is about 17 km from Cagliari and has been the home of human beings since ancient times.
Some ruins from the nuragic era have been discovered on the hills around Baccutinghinu, where the nuraghe of Monti Arrubiu is located.
