The tomb of the giants of Coddu Vecchiu (or Coddu Vecchju) is an important Nuragic archaeological site located in the territory of Arzachena.
It is located near the nuraghe La Prisgiona.
To arrive, take the SS427 towards Calangianus and then, after about 3 km, follow the fork to the right towards Luogosanto.
After about 1,800 km, take the road to Capichera and a few hundred meters further (a short path must be covered on foot), on the right you will find the tomb. At the center of the funerary monument there is a 4 m high stele surrounded by a semicircular fifth formed by large stone slabs embedded in the ground.
The tomb, in local granite, was built in three phases:
the first during the Chalcolithic (culture of Monte Claro) when the original corridor dolmen of about 10 m in length was built
the second phase during the ancient bronze, with the reuse of the Bonnanaro culture by the people
the third phase, of restructuring and to which we owe the raising of the stele and the addition of the exedra, during the middle bronze, in the middle of the Nuragic period
