The nuragic complex of Serbissi is located on the limestone plateau of the Taccu between the municipalities of Osini and Gairo
It is a complex nuraghe of the tholos type with a small village of 8 huts
The site was inhabited between the seventeenth century aCuntil the 10th century aC
It is built at a height of 964 meters on a natural relief shaped like small squares
From the structural point of view, it is characteristic that the bases rest directly on the rock and were adapted to the morphology of the terrain, incorporating it and using it as an integral part of the wall structure
The nuraghe has a trilobal plan , with a central tower in position and an additional body consisting of 3 towers, which, according to some studies, would have been built in successive phases
THE CENTRAL TOWER
The Tholos chamber of a maximum diameter of about 4 meters, is not perfectly circular, it is still intactIt rises up to 6 metershigh on a series of 17 rows with medium and large blocks
The roof is ogival: at the top there is no keystone on which the thrusts are concentrated, but the vault itself is terminated by the last and smallest circle of stonesIt is therefore a false time
The floor was made of stone slabs
On the south wall there is the helicoidal staircase of which 28 steps are preserved, of which 25 reach the landing from which the upper chamber is accessed
Tower A, which is the smallest, is made up of 2 superimposed floors: on the ground a room in the basement another room, closed to tholos, accessible from the floor of the room
The environment could be a warehouse
Tower B located to the south, is the one with the greatest damage, due to the collapse of the upper part and the perimeter wall, however restored in the last interventions of 2001
Tower C is a coarsely circular chamber, within the walls of the bastion, a bastion that extends for a length of m 32
In addition to the towers, the nuragic complex of Serbissi includes 8 huts which are arranged around the nuraghe and in which most of the nuragic population resided
The ceramic artifacts encountered were dated between the Middle Bronze Age and the Late Bronze Age; the elements of the Final Bronze appear sporadically
