Perda Rubia was born in 1949 from an idea of the commMario Mereu who, among the first in Sardinia, senses the potential of the traditional Cannonau grape variety, cultivated in the Ogliastra territory since ancient timesThe Perda Rubia wine, produced in the historic Cardedu winery, both with own grapes and with grapes brought by local farmers, is quickly appreciated even outside the borders of the island, conquering the international limelight

Renato Mereu, Mario's son, continues the family business, planting new vineyards in 1971 with the application of a series of technical cultivation innovations that will have been the company's trademark ever sinceThe Perda Rubia, in fact, unique in its kind, is now produced "in purity" by Cannonau single grape variety on a "free foot", therefore not grafted onto an American vine

In 2014 the baton passes to the third generation of the Mereu family, which starts an important renewal and relaunch work by introducing the new Naniha label, with the aim of presenting the Cannonau "pure" on the new international markets, while respecting traditional processing methods, handed down over the seventy years of activity

Today the company has about 600 hectares of surface, all conducted organically, of which 20 hectares destined for vineyards and the remainder for olive growing, forestry and the cultivation of ancient cereals.

The company logo, present in all products, is the evolution of the historic Perda Rubia wine label which, reworked and stylized, recalls the design of an ancient Sardinian fabric, owned by the family for a long time
