The Bentesali vineyards are located in various locations on the island, in the plain the vineyards are surrounded by hedges of prickly pear (fighe s'india), lentischio (moddici), alimo (herm) and the reeds protect them from the mistral winds and sirocco, in the hills the hedges of the typical Mediterranean scrub; olive (ollastu), cistus (muregu), lentischio, myrtle (murta) protect them from the strong Mistral and north wind
The vineyards of the Vignes Bentesali extend in the different areas of the island, they are small vineyards cultivated in the macro and micro regions of the island where the best lands suitable for the cultivation of the free foot vine are found
In the Su pranu de sa Cresia region with sandy soils extending to the sea, in the S'Arriaxiu region with flat and sandy soils, in the Pabirongu region the vineyards are grown on the hills in loose limestone soils, in the Is Scararettus region in soils sandy and sheltered from the winds, in the Bingixedda region limestone soils, sandy and exposed to the north wind and in the Sa Scrocca Manna region in the hills bordering the territory of Calasetta, where in the Giunchera region vineyards are grown near the sea in sandy soils exposed to the brackish winds of the mistral which together with an ideal sunny and breezy microclimate, contribute to giving the grapes ripening, sugar content and acidity unique details and to the wine aromas, structure and character that make Bentesali wine unique
