Nature has shaped the town and its surroundings.
The granite rock dominates the landscape of Aggius, both among the heights of the Capitza Park that overlook the town, and in the fantastic labyrinth of boulders of the nearby Valle della Luna.
In the past under the dominion of the Doria and then of the Aragonese, the town today owes its prosperity to the extraction and processing of granite.
The town center has a pleasant aspect due to the care with which the ancient stone houses are preserved, perhaps among the most beautiful in the whole of Gallura.
During the celebrations of the first Sunday of October there is also the "di li 'agghiani" festival, that is of the bachelors, in which you can taste the "suppa cuata", a typical Gallura soup.
The road that goes from Aggius to Isola Rossa soon reaches the bottom of the Valle della Luna, an impressive landscape due to the enormous amount of rocky outcrops, remains of the ancient glacial modeling.
